he noticed a male individual holding a small silver-coloured camera who, in a disguised fashion, was taking pictures of his children. He speaks of ‘disguised fashion’ as the individual, instead of holding the camera to his face, was taking pictures from the abdominal area of his body. The witness overheard the ‘clicking’ noise when pictures were taken.
After having taken three or four pictures of his children, he verified that that the individual took more pictures of two male children, nine and five years of age.

When they tried to take photographs of him, he appeared quite alarmed and flatly refused because, he said, he had a daughter the same age as the missing girl and was going through a divorce.'

We stress that at this time, we were contacted by various journalists, who alleged that they had noticed his strange comportment, and that he showed himself to be extremely curious. When they tired to capture his picture, he repudiated this vehemently, alleging that he was father to a little girl, the same age as Madeleine and was in the middle of a divorce.

Kindle edition loc 2003 Jornal de Noticias referred to 'traces of blood from a dead person, presumably Madeleine', having been found on a wall in the McCanns' bedroom at Apartment 5A. This 'fact', it said, 'places the child's death inside the apartment'. Investigators 'do not take it as certain that this was a homicide', it went on, but 'somebody tried to clean up the traces'.

Traces of blood from a dead person, presumably from little Madeleine, have been discovered on a wall in the bedroom that was occupied by the McCann couple, in the apartment at the ‘Ocean Club’, in Lagos, from where the girl vanished on May 3. This fact locates the child’s death inside the apartment, but the investigators do not take it as certain that this was a homicide, although according to the clues that were collected by forensics experts, somebody tried to clean up these traces.

Policia Judiciaria (PJ) has known for a month that Madeleine McCann was killed on the night of May 3, in the apartment of the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, and definitely abandoned the abduction theory. On the other hand, the suspicions that always fell on Maddie’s parents since she disappeared, are now growing stronger. The revelation was made to DN yesterday by a source that is connected to the process

Kindle edition loc 2089 Almeida asked for an 'inspection by the dogs of the clothing used by the group of friends of the McCann family' (...) Chief inspector Almeida requested these things because, he wrote, the police were now 'in a situation in which the death of the monor Madeleine Beth McCann occurred on May 3rd 2007, inside Apartment 5A ... The work done by the dog team led us firmly towards this line of inquiry, not that it had been previously ignored but because the dogs may have determined where scientifically verifiable clues/evidence could be recovered.'

The work done by the dog team, in Portugal, brought conviction of this slope [angle] / proposition [theory] of the investigation, not that it had been ignored previously, but because they [the dogs] could have determined the place where clues / trace evidence could be recovered that could be, scientifically, proven.
