Madeleine’s parents lose legal fight with the case investigator.

Inspector in charge of leading searches accuses the couple of inventing their daughter’s disappearance.

The Portuguese Supreme Court has rejected the request by Kate and Gerry McCann to silence a police officer who, in his book, states that the couple invented the disappearance of their daughter, Madeleine McCann.

In the book “Maddie: The Truth of the Lie (Maddi: The Truth of the Lie, freely translated), Gonçalo Amaral, the police officer who led the search operation for madeleine when she disappeared from a hotel apartment in 2007, puts forth the argument that what happened was false situation forwarded by her parents in order to hide her body, when in reality she was dead.

However, the Portuguese judges also decided that the (McCanns) were not entirely innocent in their daughter’s fate.

Through their lawyers, Kate and Gerry have confirmed that they disagree totally with both decisions. They will sue Amaral in the event that his book is published in the UK.
