Intelligence suggests that a paedophile ring in Belgium made an order for a young girl 3 days before Madeleine McCann was taken. Somebody connected to this group saw Maddie took a photograph of her and sent it to Belgium.

The purchaser agreed that the girl was suitable and Maddie was taken.

In reply to your fax dated 23-05-2008 relating to the request for additional information from the Belgian authorities, with regard to the message received by this police force containing “intelligence” information that place the hypothesis of the disappearance of Madeleine as being the involvement of a paedophile ring from Belgium apart from the fax received after the GNI request, we do not have any other information about this subject.

We inform you that an Irish citizen, Tim Clarke who was on holiday in Portugal visited the Black Dove pub in Alvor with his family on 01-05-2007. They were celebrating his youngest daughter’s birthday.

Between 10.20 and 11.00 an unknown individual approached his daughter and embraced her but he did not have any link to the group.

Mr Clarke thought this strange.

Description of the stranger:

English or Irish citizen
1.67 metres or 1.72 in height.
Aged over 30
Pale complexion
Wearing a dark T-shirt

Without further description.

Subject: Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, born on 12th May 2003


Just for your information.

We report that on 20-10-2007 Frankfurt police received an anonymous call from a woman who was apparently drunk in which she informed the police officer that she lives in Praia da Luz and saw Madeleine McCann accompanied by an English speaking couple, they entered into the following address: Sinop Bristi 27. Then the woman approached the house and read the name Singh on the lock next to the doorbell.

Subject: Madeleine McCann

Information was received from Gibraltar police (criminal investigation department) according to which a local male individual communicated to them that when on holiday in Tangiers, Morocco, he saw a girl who looked like Madeleine McCann.

This person stated that on 8th or 9th August 2007 at about 17.00 when he was in the old part of Medina, near to the Continental Hotel that he saw a man carrying a girl who looked like Madeleine to the door. He tried to look at the girl’s eyes but didn’t manage. The girl seemed unhappy, ill-tempered and did not speak.

He described the man as being about 1.75 – 1.80 cm in height, corpulent, aged 38 – 45 with short fair hair, European type fair skin but he did not appear to be a tourist.

This individual spoke English and tried to buy shoes for the girl who corresponded to Madeleine’s description. He says he does not remember the name of the shop which was in one of the labyrinths in Medina.

Subject: Disappearance of Madeleine McCann born 12-05-2003

We received the following information from a German tourist who was on holiday from 06-08-2007 to 18-08-2007 in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

Probably on 08-08-2007 upon leaving the pool of the house where she was staying she saw a blond haired girl similar to Madeleine McCann who was on the veranda of the house opposite. Suddenly a strongly built dark skinned woman came over and pushed the girl inside the apartment and immediately closed the curtains. From then on the girl was seen no more.

The address of the apartment is the following: Saint Jordi******, Lloret de Mar.

The woman who provided this information did not contact Spanish police because she did not attach any importance to what she had seen.
