We were informed by an English colleague that they have a sample (vestige) collected from the crime scene related to this case.

If this is the case we ask that it should be sent to Lyon - if possible the sample collected from the crime scene and the DNA.

In the sequence of the message from IP SG indicated below and the telephone call of this date. we can confirm that we did not present the UK with DNA samples for comparison. It is is our opinion that these notices are pure speculation by the organs of mass media. Therefore, we would like to know if any bag was found of this type close to the Faro airport and if there is any connection to this case.

In the sequence of the vestiges collected from the Ocean Club – Praia da Luz, which was sent to all the Interpol Cabinets, we were informed:

• The Secretary General of Interpol - IPSG – Lyon, informed us that these were not found in the IPSG database.
• IP Wiesbaden, informed us that two of the vestiges are not useful for comparison; another was compared and nothing found was in the files. All told, Wiesbaden states that this vestige was left by a woman or a youth, but not by a small child.

Our Ref: Correspondence about Madeleine McCann CCC/SCH/SUP

The Secretary General has recently received (from different sources) emails about the Maddie McCann case

Source 1: The Secretary General received an email from the committee “Troviamos Bambini”. This organisation has a website with articles relating to missing children. In the sequence of checking the persons who have visited their website, the committee discovered that one person who was in Rabat (Morocco) regularly accesses the website, especially when articles about the disappearance of little Maddie are published.

The website was accesses namely on 24th, 25th and 27th August 2007 when articles were published entitled “Maddie and Ylenia” and on 14th September 2007 when the article “The Mother Killed Maddie” was published.

The Secretary General transmitted this information to IP Rome and IP Rabat.
IP Rome has informed us today that this information has been sent to the police force specialised in computer crime and that the result will be communicated to us.

Source 2: The secretary General received an email from an employee who works in IP Berne who informed that he had received a photo of a girl similar in appearance to Madeleine McCann taken in Berne on 11-08-2007 in a popularly frequented place in the old part of town – “Munsterplatz”. After the police were alerted two police units went to this site but did not find the people in question.

I send the photo of these persons in annex.
