EXCLUSIVE McCanns fly back home but insist: We're not running away and we WILL clear our names British experts to reveal new evidence in days as cops say pair refused to answer 40 questions

KATE McCann sobbed in despair as she sat alone in daughter Madeleine's pink-painted bedroom yesterday.

The 39-year-old mum insisted on entering the room after flying home with husband Gerry, 39, and twins Sean and Amelie, two.

Gerry's mum Eileen, 67, said: "It was traumatic for her. I imagine she said a prayer."

The McCanns left Portugal with Madeleine, four, still missing after 130 days.

A friend said: "They're not running and will clear their names." Portuguese cops say they refused to answer 40 questions. British police will reveal results of new tests in days.

EXCLUSIVE: McCanns fly back home but insist: We're not running away and we WILL clear our names British experts to reveal new evidence in days as cops say pair refused to answer 40 questions

The police case against Kate and Gerry McCann over the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine will be outlined to the public prosecutor in Portugal today. He will then decide whether or not to bring charges against the McCanns.

Papers outlining the case will be handed to prosecutor Jose Cunha de Magalhaes e Meneses, said police Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa, who has been in charge of the investigation. "He will analyse it and after this he will make his decision," he said.

Yesterday Kate McCann sobbed in despair as she sat alone in daughter Madeleine's pink-painted bedroom after returning to England.

The 39-year-old mum insisted on entering the room after flying home with husband Gerry, 39, and twins Sean and Amelie, two.

Gerry's mum Eileen, 67, said: "It was traumatic for her. I imagine she said a prayer."
