A paedophile from Telford allegedly made a deathbed confession that Madeleine McCann was kidnapped to order, it was reported today.

Raymond Hewlett, who was a suspect in the case, reportedly wrote to his son, Wayne, who lives in Telford, with details.
Hewlett, who died from throat cancer in April, aged 62, had persistently refused to meet detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine from the McCann’s holiday flat in Praia da Luz in May 2007.
He had been a suspect in the case because of his long record of rape and abduction of children.
